Job Description

Job Title: Farm Resource Efficiency Consultant (RFJ 9)
Reports to: Team Manager - Waste and Sustainability

Purpose of Job: To provide resource efficiency consultancy, to undertake
business development and sales activity and to provide assistance to further
develop the Companies resource efficiency products and services. To provide
technical and delivery support to the Companies Sustainability Leadership Group
and other technical areas in particular Agricultural and Rural Advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver resource efficiency (energy, water, waste and carbon) audits for
agricultural clients. Write resource improvement reports for clients
highlighting measures for improvement either through process
improvement or capital investment

Provide resource efficiency advice and practical process improvements to
agricultural clients to deliver financial savings and to reduce environmental
impacts.

Providing investment appraisal services to clients advising on low carbon
Technologies

Provide resource efficiency awareness and training for clients

To occasionally contribute to research studies to inform Government and
agencies on strategy and policy.

To work closely with the Companies key Account Managers to develop profitable
business developing sales of £50K per annum from agricultural industry
clients

Developing concept notes, business proposals and accompanying
Account Managers on client visits

To write clear and concise technical and analytical reports

To deliver a target of £70K of Net Revenue annually

Experience and Skills:

Good understanding of policy and business drivers for resource efficiency
in the agricultural industry

Track record of delivering resource efficiency advice to the Agricultural
Sector


Graduate or equivalent in an engineering subject. Chartered engineer
status would be an advantage

Expertise in the provision of resource efficiency advice, enabling efficiency
improvements to be made in water, energy, or raw material use within
organisations, leading to financial savings, lower resource use and
reduced carbon emissions.

Basic business skills in investment appraisal to advise companies whether
to invest or replace equipment. For example being able to calculate the
payback period of investment in low energy lighting.

Understanding of farming systems and understanding of resource
efficiency opportunities relating to common farming systems and
processes such as grain drying, milk production and potato storage.

A good understanding and experience of working within the agricultural
industry and schemes available to the industry that support resource
efficiency.

Basic understanding of renewable energy technologies wind, PV,
anaerobic digestion

Carbon Trust Accreditation would be an advantage

FACTS registration would be an advantage

Understanding of the business support environment which includes
Business Link, Manufacturing Advisory Service

Strong track record in business development and sales
Good understanding of the sustainability agenda

Good project management skills

Strong analytical, report writing and verbal presentation skills with the
ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and appropriate
manner to a range of individuals, stakeholders and farmer groups
