Demand Planning Manager / Global FTSE100 Organisation / Southampton
A leading FMCG Organisation is currently looking for aDemand Planning Manager to join their team in Southampton
Operational/Professional/Business
- Sustain a forecast of the resource requirements from across R&D in a cycle appropriate to the needs of the business.
- Works with the leaders of the technical resource in order to establish a central capacity picture across the technical resources
- Provides information that identify consequences and risks related to R&D portfolio decisions
- Works with senior managers, project managers and PMO in order to improve the quality of the signal
- Design and implement performance metrics package for all central R&D resources for presentation at portfolio review and R&D Ops LT meetings.
Management

- Champions the R&D Planning process and associated systems across functions, driving best practice and ensuring full compliance.
- Drive and Support collaboration within and across teams and functions within R&D
- Achieve a high performing virtual team by motivating people, identifying training & development needs, supporting day-today issues and supporting strengths and visibly supporting team decisions
- Recruit and develop the right people with the right skills to build professional planning function.
Relationship
- Initiator and lead representative in interactions with R&D project teams and cross-functional teams in order to prepare R&D Demand forecast
- Supports the PMO team in management of operational risk and preparation of mitigation plans
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with R&D project teams and resources and provides advice and support to these teams both on an ad-hoc basis and as part of regular engagement activities
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with external supplier to ensure smooth provision of routine analytical testing
- Builds network across the organisation's planning community in order to build best practice.
Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement in the performance of the R&D Planning Cycle process via engagement of project & resource leads
- Ensure planning issues from demand reviews are identified, shared with relevant stakeholders, improvement plans developed with clear ownership and are implemented.
